Summary of Key Points
- What personal information do we process? Depending on how you interact with our Services, we may process personal information.
- Cash lists: Amounts, transaction labels and savings goals may contain personal financial information you choose to enter. Avoid entering information that you do not want stored or shared.
- Service providers: We use Google Firebase for accounts, optional cloud storage and technical services, and Google AdMob and Google Play Billing in the Android app.
- Web App: Private lists stay in your browser (localStorage). If you sign in or share a list, list data and collaborator names are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) so they can sync across devices.
1. What Information Do We Collect?
Personal information you disclose to us
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
When you register, Firebase Authentication processes your email address and sign-in credentials. Your profile includes your username or display name. When you use cloud sync or sharing, your list names, monetary amounts, transactions, goals and sharing permissions are stored in Cloud Firestore. People you invite or give a sharing link can access the data allowed by that link.
Information automatically collected
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information may include your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services.
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law.
3. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?
Google Firebase supplies authentication and cloud storage. Firebase/Google Analytics processes app or website interactions and device/browser information to help us understand usage. Firebase Crashlytics in Android processes crash reports, diagnostic information and installation identifiers to investigate errors.
The Android app uses Google AdMob to display advertising. Its SDK can process IP addresses, approximate location inferred from IP, device identifiers, app interactions and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Advertising choices are available through the app’s privacy options where provided. Google Play Billing handles Android purchases; CashCounter uses product and purchase-status information to unlock purchased features and does not receive your payment-card details.
Provider information: Firebase privacy and security, Google Privacy Policy. Data may be processed on provider infrastructure outside your country.
4. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
Guest lists are stored locally until you delete them or remove the app or website data. Cloud account data remains available for the account and sharing features until removed through the app or a deletion request. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete cloud account data. Technical analytics, advertising and diagnostic data is subject to the respective service configuration and provider retention practices.
You can request deletion of your account or specific associated data without logging in: Delete your CashCounter account and data. Requests are handled manually after verifying ownership where necessary. If specific data must be retained for legal reasons, we will explain the affected data and retention period when handling the request.
5. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
6. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
7. Your Privacy Rights
In some regions (like the EEA, UK, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws: right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and to object. You can make such a request by contacting us at corvin_hartmann@gmx.de.
